The Georgian Bay Land Trust (GBLT) Conservation Assistant is additional staff support for the various research projects GBLT engages in as well as additional conservation tasks. Stand.earth is hiring a Climate Organizer to play a key role in securing a commitment from the Canadian federal government to phasing out thermal coal exports. This position, which is a one year fixed-term role based in Vancouver BC, will sit inside our Canada Oil & Gas campaign team and carry out work on our coal campaign in partnership with Ecojustice, along with other oil and gas infrastructure organizing work as needed.
This position will play a key role in building and mobilizing a local organizing network to secure a clear and binding commitment from the federal government to phase out Canada’s thermal coal exports by 2030.
The Climate Organizer will support and empower volunteers, partner organizations, and impacted communities using effective organizing strategies, digital tools, training, and relationship-building. Somers Lab at the University of Regina is seeking a Wildlife Field Assistant based out of Estevan, Saskatchewan to assist a MSc student with research focused on understanding pre- and during construction effects of a utility-scale solar energy facility on the local wildlife communities in southern Saskatchewan. We will be conducting bird and wildlife surveys using active, and passive (automated recording units and trail cameras) methods on the proposed solar facility site and reference sites which are located 10-15 km southwest of Estevan. We will be conducting fieldwork as a group of two or more in crop fields and pastures. Fieldwork will involve driving on highways and rural roads, and walking for long distances to conduct surveys. Due to avian activity, work will be focused on early mornings and afternoons. Working hours will be dynamic and will depend on the time of the season, weather and the task at hand with occasionally working on the weekends.

The CLB program invites and supports HRM residents to take the next step into leadership on climate action in their communities. As part of the CLB, EAC will offer multiple events and workshops that encourage HRM residents to become climate volunteers with existing groups, build their skills, or begin their own climate action and community-building initiatives in their neighbourhoods.

Indigenous Canada Program: Cuso Micro-Grants
Cuso will provide small grants of up to $5,000 to Indigenous Youth Leaders (ages 15-30) to support projects taking place in Northern Canada. Youth Leaders (Grantees) will receive mentorship, training, and capacity-building to support the implementation of the project.
Projects will:
1. Be designed and implemented by Indigenous Youth: Focus on programming, training, or capacity building opportunities for Indigenous youth (ages 15-30), based on specific needs in communities. The micro-grant can be used as a steppingstone to start a larger project or implement a new idea.
2. Contribute to one or more of:
Reconciliation
Building an Inclusive Canada
Preserving the environment
Strengthening youth resilience
3. Benefit at least 10 youth (including the Youth leader). Projects can involve and benefit other actors in addition to the Indigenous Youth, ex. parents, teachers, adults, Elders, etc.
Cuso International

Program Associate, education
As part of the Conservation Area Programs and Services team, this role is responsible for educational and recreational program delivery, cultural interpretation, special event programming and other activities as assigned. Duties may include delivering educational and recreational programs such as field trips and day camps to children, youth and adults, as well as leading guided hikes and tours of historical buildings to park visitors. This role is responsible for safely delivering exceptional and engaging educational programs, articulating curriculum-linked content, maintaining programming spaces and materials, providing excellent customer service to participants//students/visitors, as well as ensuring the safety of program participants.

This program is designed to be as accessible as possible, and there are many ways this grant can be utilized. Here are some examples:
→ If you live in the city, you could use it to pay for gas or a ride share to get out on the lan
→ Help to pay for a counseling session
→ Provide an honorarium to an elder for their teachings
→ Pay for an art or yoga class or exercise training session
Indigenous Climate Action (ICA) is excited to relaunch its Indigenous Youth Wellness Honorarium! These honorariums are intended for Indigenous Youth engaged in frontline activism and/or climate justice organizing. At ICA we know that financial and mental health barriers often impact Indigenous Peoples when engaging in climate justice work. By creating this fund we hope to remove some of those barriers that come up when upholding our sacred responsibilities.
Canadian Youth Climate Action Awards
Pivot Green
The Canadian Youth Climate Action Award recognizes the vital work young Canadians are doing in the fight against climate change. Established in 2022, the award provides prize money to existing worthwhile youth-led Canadian projects. First prize is $7,500, runner-up prizes are $3,500, and honourable mentions receive $1,000 each. Award applications open on February 13, 2026 through the Pivot Green website. Award applications close on March 16, and the award prizes will be announced on April 15, 2026.
Across Canada, youth are organizing, influencing policymakers and corporations, and creating essential programs in their communities. The number and quality of projects applying for the award far exceeded our expectations. Over the past three years, we have recognized 25 youth-led projects and distributed over $37,000 in prize money. The award applicants and recipients vary geographically and by activity. Here is a short video highlighting our 2025 prize winners.
One of the great joys of being on the Pivot Green team is presenting the Canadian Youth Climate Action Awards and cheques in person to the top winners. We hope our attendance will inspire and encourage those involved to continue their fine work. But each time we present, these extraordinary young Canadians turn the tables on us, and inevitably, we are the ones who leave feeling not only inspired but energized and more committed than ever to continue with this award.
